Upgrades are usually done in stages. Each level will provide more performance than the one before it. However, they will also be more involved and expensive. The first upgrade we recommend is tuning the computer. This involves changing the fuel and ignition curves to optimize performance. A good tune can gain up to 40 hp on a stock engine. (Any significant upgrade will require re-tuning the computer.)
On the exhaust system side, run a 3-in. system only if you have a single pipe from the catalytic converter back. If you have dual pipes from the converter, we recommend using a 2½-in. pipe.

The Winternationals Super Comp money round was historic as it marked the 13th brother-vs.-brother final in NHRA history. Gabriel Torres took the win over his brother, Val Jr., with a .035-second reaction time and 8.922 at 165.46 on the 8.90 index to a .024 and 8.941 at 176.26.
